For some objects, it is more efficient for a device to report whole object in one message. Therefore it would be good to have a possibility to use custom decoder on the whole object and not resource by resource.
Location updates already work this way, but are internal to Cumulocity and can not be modified.
Hi Peter, thanks for raising this idea. I had a discussion around decoding of whole objects in the past already and we agree that this would be a valuable improvement for a number of use-cases. We have included this idea to the development backlog but not yet planned as we are working currently on other topics which have a higher priority to us. Please let us know if this capability is or becomes critical for a production IoT solution.
