When the cep engine / smartrules send out an email, the sender is always called no-reply@cumulocity.com in the mail . Even though I configured in the smartrules, that the customer can answer to the mail and it will get send to an certain mail-address (for example service.cts@durr.com).
The customer will probably not answer to the mail, since it is called no-reply.
Hi Lars, thank you for the feedback. While at first sight this seems to be an easy change this actually led to quite an extensive internal discussion.
The reason why the sender address is not configurable is that the same e-mail server is configured for all tenants. Changing the sender address to an adress comming from a different domain (e.g. @durr.com), would result in many e-mail clients marking mails from Cumulocity IoT as Spam. This is because the domain does not match the e-mail servers' domain (cumulocity.com). Also, we do believe that most modern e-mail clients do highlight the address from the reply-to field once the mail is opened.
