Right now, the Measurements tab is shown only if there are measurements. This is confusing to new customers as they don't see the tab which is described in their user manual.
To avoid the confusion, we are inserting one dummy value "0" when adding a new database to the device, but this is also not ideal and can create issues. The reason why we did this were repeated questions to our support from new customers.
It would be better if we had an option to always show the Measurements tab and not resort to having an initial dummy measurement.
Starting with Cumulocity IoT 10.14 the measurement tab will always be displayed.
Dear Manuel, thanks for the feedback! We had a lot of discussions around this idea. Generally, within our UIs we do follow the principle of only showing information / Tabs when applicable. Given the use-case you described and that measurement is a very fundamental concept, we came to agree that we should always show the measurement tab, even if there is no measurement to display. We will plan this improvement for a future release. As soon as we have decided on a release, I will provide an update.
