There are two aspects that need to be improved:
For widgets like the asset table or the map, it should be possible to select multiple (child-)devices to be displayed in the widget.
Also, it should be possible to add also (child-)devices from sub-asset groups, without duplicate them first from the sub-asset group to the asset group the dashboard belongs to.

Thank you for raising this Idea. At the moment, we do not plan to include the ability to multi-select the groups or assets in the asset table widget. While we agree that this would be a useful feature, due to our current architecture this is very difficult to implement.
Currently, indeed, the best way to achieve this is by creating a new group in which you add all required devices.
At this moment, we are marking this idea as unlikely to implement. However, if situations changes, we would reconsider and take this idea into account.
