Several of our product teams are working on ways to monetize the software on the fielded medical capital equipment. Having a module available to measure and manage licenses would be very helpful to distribute licensed software to specific devices and maximize our revenue stream by selling additional features
It's for software deployed to the device.
The best case would be: company makes a large software project with multiple separate modules. A customer pays on a subscription model for the modules they want to use and then a license is delivered to the endpoint, which enables that installed software to be installed/used. It's not firmware as such if you interpret firmware as I do: something similar to a BIOS update or software on a chip.
If that doesn't make sense, please LMK and we can set up a call.
Hey Dave, following up on this one. When you say "license" you are referring to piece of firmware that you deploy on the device, correct? CC: @Aaron Raab
Hey Dave, thanks very much for submitting this idea! When you refer to "licenses" - what does that mean? Is that a firmware version? Or the ability to access Cumulocity or certain features within?
Maybe we can schedule a call and discuss this in the new year. Cheers!
