the "Add datapoint" dialog we noticed that the sorting is random (though constant) and the colors of the datapoints change every time. The changing colors pose a problem if customers decide not to use the datapoint library and two people work on a dashboard => same datapoint can have different colors => confusion.
- The datapoint color shall be fixed
- The sorting shall follow a logic scheme
We also find that, in the list of devices, the devices are listed in a confusing order - neither alphabetical, nor following any logical structure (e.g. folders first then devices).
Also, becuase the color of the datapoints/series is only adjustable after the datapoint has been added to the chart, and the colour of exiisting datapoints is not considered, if you go through cycle of adding datapoints more than once, it is quite likely that you end up with two datapoints with the same colour or the chart.
Hi Nikolaus,
I have forwarded it to our customer and get back to you asap.

Dear Dejvic,
your feedback on how to reproduce this behaviour would be appreciated.

Thank you for the feedback.
We just tried the Data Explorer => Add Datapoint dialog and saw constant order of data points and according colors across two different browsers.
Can you send us more detailed instructions on how to reproduce the random coloring behavior?
