Device tracking should update with all movement as you change the time frame

We noticed a strange behavior with the Tracking option for a device, under the Device Management application.

When we reselect the date / time range from, say, “Last hour” to “Last day”, the map doesn’t seem to update to show all the movement in the selected time window.

Apparently the map will only show tracking for the events listed on the right hand side of the screen. So since the list on the right hand side is paginated, it doesn't matter if you select more data - the map is never uploaded.

This is totally unwanted behaviour as it makes this screen useless.

    Hi Nikolaus,

I'd be glad to discuss the use case in more detail. Please schedule a meeting and we can discuss it.

    Dear Luiz,

thanks a lot for your feedback. When querying the positions, currently there is a limit of 1000 positions that are being queried. Only if you scroll down the list of positions at the right side of the screen, will you be able to see a button that says "Load more". Clicking this button will lead to loading the next set of 1000 position events.

After discussing this with the team, an improvement that we will implement in a future Cumulocity IoT version is to make the "Load more" button visible outside of the position list so that you can see and click it without scolling to the bottom of the list.

Looking at the screenshot you provided it seems that the device you are using is sending a lot of position events even for the same point in time (maybe after rounding to seconds). It would be very interesting for us to understand the use-case that requires this high frequency of location updates?

    Many thanks & Regards,

    Nikolaus
