Cumulocity Edge should support devices communicating using the LwM2M protocol. This would allow deployments with devices that do not support C8y's REST/MQTT protocols and/or require a more lightweight transport protocol than HTTPS (i.e. COAPS). These deployments are possible to the public cloud (cumulocity.com) but not to Edge instances.
We are developing a device that will use a lightweight protocol (e.g. LwM2M) and want this to communicate with any C8y instance regardless of the deployment type.
Hi Martin,
LwM2M works for Edge like in any other Cumulocity deployment. However, some additional configuration is required to cope with the UDP traffic. Jorge will get back to you to discuss the details.
Best regards,
Aaron
