Platform provide usage statistics on tenant basis. In our sales model, we would like to create only one customer tenant where we sell different web apps from different partnerships which requires to count device groups in one tenants seperately. If you cannot distinguish how many devices are connected by each web app how can we do the pricing accordingly?
Some further information - Cumulocity IoT 10.14, /statistics/devices now supports "deviceParent" and "deviceType". As an interim measure perhaps you could use these existing fields to get the hierarchy information within the tenant; for example assign a deviceType per customer, then you could clearly see which devices go to which customers.
Thank you for raising this Idea. Whilst we may not provide a solution in precisely the manner requested we are aware of the need to allow our customers to be able to accurately bill in a multi-layer tenant/user hierarchy. Regards, Jane.
